CP210x USB-UART Driver — Installation Guide

The CP210x USB-UART Driver is the essential communication driver required for operating all TritonSensing desktop software.

It enables stable USB-to-UART communication between your PC and TritonSensing devices, ensuring that your system recognizes the device as a valid COM port.

Overview

TritonSensing devices use Silicon Labs CP210x bridge chipsets (CP2102, CP2104, CP2105, CP2108).

Without this driver installed, Windows may fail to create a COM port, and TritonSensing software will be unable to detect or communicate with your device.

This driver is required for the following TritonSensing applications:

  • TS-Pulse (Easy Flasher)

  • TritonSensing Logger

  • TS-SerialMonitor

  • Other TritonSensing AIoT utilities and upcoming software releases

Supported Operating Systems

  • Windows 10 (Version 1803 and later)

  • Windows 11 (All builds supported)

  • 64-bit systems recommended

Installation Instructions

Follow the steps below to properly install the CP210x driver on your system:

  1. Download the latest CP210x USB-UART Driver package from the TritonSensing Download page.

  2. Extract the downloaded ZIP file to any folder on your PC.

  3. Locate the file silabser.inf inside the extracted folder.

  4. Right-click silabser.inf and select Install.

  5. Windows will automatically install the necessary driver components.

  6. After installation, reconnect your TritonSensing device via USB.

A new COM port should now appear.

You can confirm installation via:

Device Manager → Ports (COM & LPT) → “Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge”

Why This Driver Is Required

The CP210x driver enables reliable USB-UART communication used by TritonSensing software for:

  • Firmware flashing and bootloader communication

  • Real-time sensor data streaming

  • Device configuration and calibration

  • Diagnostic logging and development tasks

Installing the driver ensures stable operation and prevents data loss or disconnection issues.

Troubleshooting

If the device is not recognized:

  • Reinstall the driver by repeating the steps above.

  • Try a different USB cable or USB port.

  • Check Device Manager to verify if the COM port appears correctly.

  • Restart the PC after installation, if necessary.
